Nazareth College

Founded in 1924, Nazareth College is a coeducational college with undergraduate and graduate studies in the liberal arts and sciences and professional programs in health and human services, education and management. The College is located on 150 scenic acres near Rochester, NY, and currently enrolls about 2,000 undergraduate and 800 graduate students. 

Nazareth’s campus spreads over nearly 150 acres of manicured lawns and wooded groves. The campus features several newly renovated academic buildings, state-of-the-art classrooms and computer labs, and a 2,200-seat athletic stadium complex.

Nazareth offers more than 40 degree programs to choose from, with new programs being added regularly to respond to a rapidly changing workforce. The average class size is 19 students.  Students may participate on more than 20 varsity sports teams from equestrian to track and field. All undergraduate students are offered free tickets to the international dance, theatre, and other performing groups during the College’s Arts Center season, as well as student theatre productions.

  • During the past 10 years alone, 12 Nazareth students and 6 faculty members have won Fulbright awards, placing Nazareth among the ranks of the country’s most prestigious colleges and universities. Scholars from Nazareth have studied in many countries, including Argentina, Egypt, France, India, New Zealand, South Korea, and Sri Lanka.
  • In fall 2006, Nazareth adopted a standardized test optional admissions policy. The change is intended to increase, strengthen, and diversify its applicant pool by granting students choices in presenting their best academic profile.
  • 23 intercollegiate athletic teams compete at the Division III level. Men: basketball, cross-country, golf, indoor track and field, lacrosse, outdoor track and field, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball. Women: basketball, cross-country, field hockey, golf, indoor track and field, lacrosse, outdoor track and field, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball. Co-ed: equestrian.
