Groth aims for NFL
Cuyler Groth isn’t just your average division three football player, he’s actually a monstrous offensive linemen at six-feet seven-inches and 315 pounds. Groth’s size and skills have him garnering interesting from NFL scouts and got him named to second-team All-East Region for his performance with SUNY Brockport this past season.

Pickard racks up awards
SUNY Brockport has a new star and her name is Amanda Pickard. As a senior on the Golden Eagle women’s field hockey team, Pickard was voted as the Rochester Area College Athletics’ Field Hockey Player of the Year.
“The best part of my game, I think, is that I am aggressive to the ball, and just love to play the game,” Pickard said.
This past season Pickard’s aggressive style of play led her to set several school records while recording a team-high 16 goals and 40 points.

Tigers hope to stop Mercyhurst in hockey
The RIT men’s hockey team plays Mercyhurst in Atlantic Hockey Association action tonight and tomorrow at Ritter Arena.

RIT's Geypens reaches hockey milestone
Maegan Geypens became the sixth player in Rochester Institute of Technology women’s hockey to reach 100 points, recording an assist to lift the Tigers to a 5-4 win over Hamilton in non-conference women’s hockey on Wednesday.
Katie Stack (Batavia) scored twice and had an assist for the Tigers. Keltie Jones had three assists and Sarah Dagg had two assists for RIT (9-1-1), ranked No. 5 in the country. Kelley Pron and Amanda Klassen also scored for RIT, which has won six straight.

Stenuf finishes off impressive college running career
Nazareth’s Nick Stenuf jumped out to quick start during the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships and finished as an All-American by placing 19th during the 8,000-meter race held at Hanover College in Indiana.
“Coach and I had a goal of top 35 to make All-American,” said Stenuf. “Before the race, I talked with a bunch of friends on the Cortland and Geneseo teams and I just told them, ‘I’m going to go hard for the first three-and-a-half to four miles and hold on for the last mile.’”

RIT men's hockey to host red-hot Mercyhurst this weekend
The RIT men’s hockey team takes on the Mercyhurst Lakers at Ritter Arena on Friday, Dec. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 13 at 7:05 p.m. in a pair of exciting Atlantic Hockey contests. Both teams are tied for second in the AHA standings with 11 points.
Salvatore¹s Pizza is sponsoring Friday¹s contest with a pizza box toss giveaway between the first and second periods. On Saturday there will be t-shirt and Locker Room coupon giveaways. In addition, there is a 40th anniversary celebration of Ritter Arena on Saturday. Classic photos and mementos will be on display throughout the lobby.

Tribunes' Parnell moves step closer to Division-I dream
Michael Parnell loved basketball but never took it too seriously.
“He just liked to have fun,” his sister, Krystal, says. “He wanted me to play more, and find success in basketball.”
The two spent many happy times shooting hoops in the park. Michael often told his little sister that she could one day play Division I basketball.
Eight years ago, Michael was robbed and murdered at the Times Square subway station in New York City. He was only 18.

SUNY Geneseo Scott Morton on ESPN
SUNY Geneseo's Scott Morton woke up Wednesday morning to find himself at the No. 1 spot on SportsCenter's top ten plays thanks to a miraculous last-second over-the-back shot that lifted the Knights over the Oswego Lakers, 85-84, a night earlier."What Scott did was nothing you could ever dream of," said Steve Minton, coach of the Geneseo's men's basketball team. "He had the presence of mind to follow the play up and knowing that he never had a chance to gain possession of the ball, to just shoot it." More...

Freshman lead Fisher past SUNY Brockport
The St. John Fisher Cardinals ruined SUNY Brockport’s home opener at Tuttle North Gymnasium by defeating the Golden Eagles 86-76. Freshman Tyler Westcott was one of five Cardinal players to score in double figures on the night.
“Our two young freshman, forward Tyler Westcott and guard Jordan Gettings really played well,” said St. John Fisher head coach Rob Kornaker.
Westcott had 12 points and Gettings added nine points and three assists for St. John Fisher.
