Bored over break?
There comes a point in everyone’s winter break when they’re bored out of their mind and don’t know what to do. We wander the internet aimlessly at one point or another, navigating every Web site known to man just to keep ourselves entertained. Well worry no more; RocLoop has compiled a list of 10 things to do over break when you’re bored.

Lupe Fiasco at SUNY Geneseo
Hip-hop megastar Lupe Fiasco came to SUNY Geneseo and treated the 1,700 fans who packed the Kuhl Gymnasium to a concert that all future shows at the college will be measured against.
Lupe, who has been on tour for more than a year, was joined by opening act Hey Champ, an Indie-Electro band newly signed to Lupe’s label FNF.
“The opener was really good actually,” said John Lerange, a sophomore at SUNY Geneseo. “They got the audience hyped up for Lupe, especially with their dance inducing music.”

Christopher Titus brings laughter to SUNY Brockport
Stand-up comedian and actor Christopher Titus entertained a crowd of about 300 people at the SUNY Brockport Union gymnasium last night.
Also on the ticket was opening act Johnny Watson, who many seemed to enjoy even if the audio levels on his microphone were a little too loud. Watson took jabs at trailer-trash life, which drew quite a bite of laughter from the audience.

The Bacon Brothers at SUNY Geneseo
Limelight and Accents of SUNY Geneseo hosted The Bacon Brothers for a concert on Oct. 25 in Kuhl Gymnasium starring Kevin and Michael Bacon.
Opening for the Bacon Brothers was Julia Nunes, a ukulele toting singer songwriter who has toured with the likes of Ben Folds, and got her start on YouTube.
Much to the delight of Geneseo students, the brothers put on a high energy show, showcasing their musical abilities and unerring charm when they addressed the crowd.

UR graduate hopes book will be a royal success
University of Rochester boasts a slew of famous graduates, from Nobel laureates to famous artists such as poet Galway Kinnell and soprano Renee Fleming. Jerramy Fine set out to add “royal princess” to the list.
Fine, who graduated in 1999, has published a delightful memoir, Someday My Prince Will Come: True Adventures of a Wannabe Princess (Gotham Books/Penguin). Her adventures began at age 6, when she spied a photo of Peter Mark Andrew Phillips, the royal English heir apparent several times removed.

Fisher's Vickers is a Renaissance man
Joel Vickers is a St. John Fisher College senior who specializes in sacks — and sax.
He’s a defensive end on the Cardinals football team, and a saxophonist in two local musical groups. He has already performed in a club on Broadway.
He co-owns a marketing company, designs all the football program covers at Fisher and is a resident assistant on campus.
All this, and he’s only 21.

Lupe Fiasco coming to SUNY Geneseo
Three-time Grammy nominee Lupe Fiasco will be headlining SUNY Geneseo’s fall concert on Saturday, Nov. 22.
“I’m really excited for this concert. Geneseo usually gets rock style musicians to perform, but this is definitely something different,” said Alyson Limpet.
Lupe, a Chicago native, is currently on tour throughout the US after his wildly successful 2007 release The Cool, carrying his hit song “Superstar,” which reached number 13 on the Billboard top 100.

Rochester Institute of Technology’s Brick City Homecoming celebration has some large events open to the general public. Among those at the Gordon Field House, 149 Lomb Memorial Drive, Henrietta are:
Bill Nye the Science Guy, the inventor, comedian, scientist and author (known for his role on the PBS television series) is this year’s Horton Distinguished Speaker. He’ll speak at 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $15 ($5 for RIT students, $10 RIT faculty and staff).
